Have you ever heard that saying, leaders are readers? Well there is truth in that saying! After all, wouldn't you say that the basic traits of leadership have remained the same throughout time? The technology has changed over the years, but the core values of leadership holds fast to the ideals of the ages! So, instead of discovering on your own how to be a leader, grab a book by any number of great leaders. To accelerate your rise to leadership, learn from the wisdom of others instead of the mistakes of yourself.
Some great resources include Tony Robbins, Napoleon Hill, Sun-Tzu, Stephen Covey, Dale Carnegie, Og Mandino, Brian Tracy and Harvey Mackay. There are many more to choose from, the important thing is to get a book and get started reading!

Have you heard the saying, "That that doesn't kill you only makes you stronger."? Well, in our daily lives we often come face to face with adversity. It's how you handle these obstacles that defines your character, and will ultimately determine your success.
Sure, there are extremes, but for most people, the obstacles are perhaps, getting caught in traffic, little Johnny spilling his cereal on the floor, pen running out of ink just when you're ready to sign that important client, paper jam in the printer, arggghhhh, the list goes on and on. Can you relate?
Learn to handle the little issues with grace, and realize that the big issues can be handled the same way. Learn problem solving at minor levels so you can apply the same techniques at the major levels. You can win! Use the proper techniques and you can turn mountains into molehills!
Trust me, when you get to the top of the mountain, and you can see for miles in any direction, you will be glad you put forth the effort to reach the top!
Sometimes we are not even aware of own own abilities to control a situation. To see an extreme example of problem solving and determination in action, see this clip...

You know, every one of us in our lives have had, or do have, someone that has taken a personal interest in our success. That person often is called a father, a coach, teacher, muse, counselor, or any number of names depicting their role as mentor.
Can you name any mentors in your life? Now, here's the thing, if you know of someone that is successful and living the lifestyle that you imagine yourself living, wouldn't it serve you well to find out what it is that they are doing? And if what they are doing is legal, moral, and ethical, wouldn't you like to be able to do it too? On top of that, what if this person would be willing to show you the secrets to their success, taking that personal interest in you, and becoming your mentor? Would you devote a portion of your time to listen and learn from your mentor if you knew that the lessons learned would guide you to that lifestyle you want to live? Of course you would!
Now, you can go and listen to Uncle Joe, who spends every night on the couch watching TV, drinking a beer, eating chips, and griping about how he is mistreated down at the plant, or you can pay attention to a successful person that is directing his own life, and better yet, teaching others how they can create a great income in their lives as well! Whichever one you choose to listen to, remember this, if you accept what they say, you will buy into their lifestyle. If you want to sit on the couch every evening, drinking beers and eating chips, listen to Uncle Joe, but if you want to impact your life in a big way, and build an income that'll create a great lifestyle, then listen to what my mentor has to say...
Here's to creating a lifestyle that can have you relaxing on a beach instead of on a couch!
Cheers!

If winning is possible why do some people choose to lose?
There are no coincidences to winning. No one wins
by chance or luck. Winners win because they want
to win.
Winners think about winning all the time. Best-
selling recording artist Nelly released an
international hit entitled 'What Does It Take to
Be Number One?' The chorus line says number 'two
is not a winner and three nobody remembers.'
This album went straight to the top of the
charts and made Nelly an international
phenomenon. He wrote the song before he became
number one in the public's eyes, yet he
understood the concept of winning and attitude.
Winners eat, sleep, and breathe the concept of
victory-of being number one.
If you want to be in first place, you first must
see yourself there. You must sell yourself on the
fact that you are a winner and that you are
number one, long before it's obvious to others.
'Faith is the substance of things hoped for and
the evidence of things not seen.' You must think
like a winner in order to become one.
Voted USA Today's Athlete of the Century,
heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali mastered the
psychology of winning. Long before Ali was the
greatest fighter of all time, he told the world
he was the greatest.
Long before the world knew who he was, he told
the local gyms that he was the greatest. And long
before he became confident enough to become
outspoken, he told himself he was the greatest.
Ali first convinced himself that he was the
greatest before he could convince anyone else.
What's more important to remember than any of
the above is this: Not only is it necessary for
you to continually remind yourself that you are a
winner, it is mandatory for your opponent to see,
hear, and feel your confidence in your own
abilities to win. When your opponent begins to
imagine you winning, half of the battle is
already won.
Listen very closely. Never let others'
experiences become your reality! You are the only
one who can officially determine who and what you
will become. If you see yourself in society's
box, that's where you will be. Never let anyone
create your world for you, because they will
always create it too small.
I was designed to win, and so I choose to walk
with my footsteps toward my God-given right. I am
mentally programmed to win. I am a record
breaker! I am confident and not arrogant.
Everyone experiences hard times and struggles,
but all winners have one thing in common, and
that is that we don't like to lose.
Almost all situations have an easy way out, but
the prize for the race is not always given to the
quick; instead, it is given to the one who
perseveres and finishes the race.
Winners understand that through the thick and
thin, we must win! Failure is not an option for
winners. They say winners never quit. I can
guarantee you a quitter will never be a winner!
Warmly,
Johnny Wimbrey
Thanks Johnny, I appreciate your words of wisdom!
